Rob Walker wrote a short post about colour walks, and it made me want to try it. I cannot articulate what a colour walk is or describe the benefits better than Rob Walker, but what I can show you is the six images that resulted from my own:
I am confident this will get mixed reactions, from people thinking this is a total waste of their time to people eager to try it for themselves. If you do end up trying your own colour walk, let me know! I am interested to know how it goes.
And the book recommendation is On Color. I read it several years ago but I do remember enjoying it. A big thing I learnt is that one strand of abstract art is to focus more and more on colour itself, rather than trying to depict objects.
